Hammams UK started as an idea a few years ago when we were selling hammams, bags and quilted bed throws. At the time we set up a website called bbqplus.co.uk (Beach,bags,Quilts) which we also sell from our Post Office in Bridport

In our Post Office which is where we keep all our stock of over 70 designs. We display a minimum of 50 designs at any one time giving customers an instant choice.

This summer was one of our busiest years since we started 4 years ago in store and on-line. We’ve seen a huge increase in return shoppers that are extremely happy with the quality and uses of the towels. So we decided to change our website to www.hammams.co.uk and become a hammam towel specialists.

Our returning customers are now buying them for friends and family as birthday and wedding gifts due to their versatility.

Shows

We have done several shows this year selling our range of hammam towels. These include Dorset County Show, Bucks County Show, Melplash Show, Romsey Show and many more. One of the most surprising show we did was the NFOL camping and caravaning show in Shaftsbury in September. The response we got here about hammam towels was amazing. So many people had heard of hammams but had not seen or used them but they liked what we had to offer.

As we run the Post Office we can also dispatch the same day (Mon-Fri) (sometimes quicker than the big “A”) when we receive orders by 3pm. Orders on Saturday need to be received by 10:30

Textures

Within our range of hammams we have the traditional tight weave, these have been around for centuries. Originally used in the Turkish hammam baths due their lightness and quick drying abilities. Today we also had hammam towels with a honeycomb texture, these are are become as popular as the traditional.

Uses

Both types of hammam towel have the same properties so they are lightweight, compact and highly absorbent. This makes them great for anyone that travels with a full suitcase or just hand luggage. If your not travelling by plane they are still great for those who do travel whether it be car, caravan, motorhome (anything with wheels).

Are you a camper or hiker? Do you use Microfibre towels? Yes they dry you but that’s generally it. Hammam towels are so versatile use them as throws, wraps, shawls, sarongs, picnic blankets as well as a towel.
